Community Health Nursing

The Department of Community Health Nursing focuses on a wide range of activities for promoting health, preventing diseases and providing holistic care to individuals, families and communities in various setting such as homes, schools and health centres. Our department has a robust team of experienced faculty. The well equipped lab provides the students with opportunities to practice and develop their skills in the simulated environment.

The rural health centre run by our department at Kottoopadam serves the primary health care needs of people in Kakkodi Panchayath. Various collaborative research projects are implemented in the rural community adopted in Kakkodi Panchayath. Urban health services are also provided in collaboration with Kozhikode Corporation for the residents in Ward – 26, Parayanchery, Kozhikode. Students get ample clinical practice facilities in public health at Family Health Centres, Community Health Centres and Urban Primary Health Centres.
